Wiring my subs for ohms?

I have 3 alpine type r 12" 4 ohm dual voice coil subs and as of right now I have a 1000 watt alpine mono amp at 2 ohms (yeah I know thats not enough my stupid fault) im lookin to either get there 2000 watt mono amp or if I could get another 1000 watt amp with another 12" sub and run 2 subs to each amp. my question is what would be the best decision to make and can 2 of the subs be brought down to 2 ohms to get the most out of the amp?

with just 2 you could get either 4 ohms or 1ohm but with three you can get 2

You actually have a 2.67ohm load right now with 3 subs... With 1 more sub you can do a 2ohm load with all 4... Just get a nice big amp @ 2ohms....

all of the big hifonics amps are rated at 2 ohms now

so goliath 5000@ 2ohm (had one of these blow up in my face!!!)

or maxximus 10000@ 2ohm

DO NOT wire your subs for ohms... this is a big mistake. wire them for volts. subs hate ohms, and wiring them for ohms will damage them.

I dont guys, I have better results wiring them for ohms. I usaully wire them parallel series reverse polarity to get the most ohms.

So if I get alpines 2000 watt amp at 2 ohms I can wire the 3 subs pretty close to 2 ohms giving me a little over 660 a piece the speakers say up to 500rms will that be too much

ummm, i seriously hope this is a joke and you meant series parallel with polarity reversed and off phase by 97 degrees...

yeah, some subs put out watts, but those are usually foreign ones, or ones built over seas. and often times these subs have built in converters that allow them to run volts and still put out watts. so i dont worry about that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
