ummm that is weird i have 2 10" RE SE's and they are DVC and im pretty sure theyr 4ohm. i havent hooked up my amp yet cuz i dont have my car yet back but the guy and curcuit city showed us how to wire up the subs into the terminals and whatever and supoesedly the amp is gona be in 2 ohms.. i dont know.

Originally posted by drasik That is thrue the 1200.1 is not stable at 1 ohm. It will clip for sure at any longer use of the amp. It'd keep it at 2 ohm load. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

how do u figure it'll clip??? clipping is based upon the gain settings......so if the gains are set correctly the amp wont clip....and yes the amp is stable at 1 ohm....its 2ohm optimised but stable down to 1ohm.....geesh people....please read up on the amp before u post things about it

this is what my wiring terminals look like. then ill just hook up the positive and negative to my amp.

Originally posted by Miller ya, but I want to (as I would think everyone else would) play it safe and wire it in 2 ohms.... is it possible or not with 2 subs that are 4 ohm DVC??
Nope, there is no way.If you want the amp to see two ohms, you have to buy two 2ohm dvc subs not 4 ohm. You serial each 2ohm sub to 4ohm, and then you parrallel the two subs together to bring it back down to 2 ohms- simple.

and the best part is that most companies offer the same model with 4ohm dvc or 2ohm dvc at the same price.

hope this helped you out.

well, what can i say...the guy at CC is an idiot. IF the 1200.1 was a 2 channel amp that would work...you would be running 1 sub @2ohms to each of the 2 channels. BUT, the 1200.1 is a mono amp...like goddyd said b4 the 2 sets of terminal are just for convenience sake. The amp is internally bridged in parallel...so if u wired it like that it would be a 1ohm load. peace
