wiring jbl 1200.1 amp!

To bridge it, just connect the two far speaker lines (i think it's right pos. and left neg.) to the sub.

I'm pretty sure that you don't need both RCAs, but I could be wrong. On my 300.1 (same as 1200.1 really, just smaller) I have both RCAs hooked up.. haven't tried it with just one.

I'd say definately run both RCA's. if you don't, if you have a stereo song and you have the right channel hooked up and bass is hitting the left channel, it won't play on your subs. The speaker outputs are identical, since this is a mono-channel amp it's internally bridged. You don't need to connect all the speaker outputs. If you connect a sub to each "channel" they will be on the same output as a parallel connection, as i understand it.

The only reason that the JBL 1200.1 has two sets of rca inputs is so if you don't have a sub-out rca on your deck you can wire both the front and the rear sets up to the amp in order for you to create a non-fading output, so if you fade, you will not lose sub signal. You can use either set of speaker outputs or both, it doesn't matter, they are internally connected together, just makes it a dummy proof amp.

Originally posted by neonak what a joke, put it at @ ohm and run ONE cd complete with some decent bass in it.

bye bye jbl amp (RTFM / they not ment for 1 ohm)
they will run at 1 ohm all day (the 2 i have seen at 1 ohm neways)

That is thrue the 1200.1 is not stable at 1 ohm. It will clip for sure at any longer use of the amp. It'd keep it at 2 ohm load. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

Just about everything I've read regarding the JBL BP1200.1 says that it's stable at 1ohm. As for the clipping problem, that comes from people setting their gains too high. Of course, that's probably also because JBL uses the most counter-intuitive method for adjusting the settings on those amps. If you've ever set one up, you'll know what I mean.

I have also heard about the JBL being stable at 1 ohm but that it has problems when you wire it to 1 ohm. I wanna play it safe and wire it in 2 ohms but if I get 2 12's that are 4 ohm DVC subs, can I wire it in 2 ohm? I have seen diagrams to wire them in 1 ohm and 4 ohm but never 2 ohm, is it possible?
