wiring head-unit, harness doesnt fit

I'm putting an aftermarket headunit in a 95 GMC suburban. I bought the dash kit and GM wiring harness from autozone and the gm wiring harness doesnt plug into my plug in the dash.

give me the part number...IIRC Autozone uses Metra rebaged as Roadworks or something...

It's a metra harness it says for most gm vehicles. it doesnt match to my stock plug though.

Part number: AW-WHGM1

hmmm...thats a funny number...

The METRA part number for your car is 70-1858

try a local shop or Best Buy or circuit city

Thanks alot man I really appreciate that. wrote down the part # and i'm going to go get it tomorrow morning.

hard wiring it a bad option? I'm kind of in a hurry with this install.

well...if you know what you are doing its ok...I only hard wire an HU when someone comes into the shop with a car that the factory harness is already cut off...You can do it...but you would need a DMM, and a 9v battery.

I also bought a dash kit from autozone i hope that fits. it says it'll fit my truck.
