LOC and inconsistent sound

my mazdaspeed3 came equipped with bose :poop: LoL is isnt that bad so I thought I would just add bass. So in went a 15" RE SX and an American Bass 100.1. Signal is transferred through a Navone NE7V, tapped in behind the head unit.

Problem is, with the radio playing, everything sounds great but the bass is so weak. With CD's, some bang and some dont, I dont get it, a quality store bought CD with tracks I know should bump just dont, but then Ill throw in a bootleg CD and it absolutely wangs, very impressive.

The only thing I could think of is that maybe I wired the LOC in the wrong spot. There are 2 spots where I could have tapped in, at the radio or at the stock amp. I figured the radio would send an unfiltered signal (opposed to the amp that pushes a 5.25 speaker in a tiny ported box under the seat) so thats the route I went with.

Does anyone have any idea if this could be fixed?

I have a hunch that Ill be needing a JL cleansweep.

sounds like you figured wrong. Bose is sold as a SYSTEM...all components tweaked for optimum performance TOGETHER. Rip it all out is the only way to really get a clean true signal.

Not to steal your post, but since I have an Infinity Gold sound package in my 99Grand cherokee will I have the same issue when I add a LOC?

well after further listening it seems overall, cd's are decent but with fm it seems like the bass is being cut. i didnt really take notice before but thats the case with the bose speakers as well.

I will try to switch the LOC location to the bose amp and see if its any better because it doesnt seem like the bose sub loses as much output on fm as the door speakers.

Another thing might need a correction

The trim pots on the LOC are at max, so the amp should be getting a ~7.5 volt signal. Could that be too much? I know input sensitivity on some amps is 5v max, but the Navone sheet said leave trim pots at max, so Im not sure.

Anyone run a cleansweep?
