Hey guys,
One of my friends got a US amp 500x2 @ 2 ohms and 1000x1 @ 4 ohms. He is wondering whether to get 2-12's 2 ohm DVC or 4 Ohm DVC. I told him to Bridge it 1000x1 @ 4 ohms, get 4 ohm DVC's wiring it like this:
But someone else is saying to get dual 4 ohm subs. Then just wire both subs in parallel, + to +, - to -, and run them 500 x 2. and that is actually a little better than running them both at 1000 bridged because being bridged, if one sub was to blow, the other sub would then be presenting a 2 ohm load bridged to the amp and that could cause a problem.
What is the correct way to run this amp. He's trying to get 500 watts into each sub, and needs to know what ohm subs to get.
Thanks
