Wiring/Amp/Fuse Problem

I have a PCA 1500d soundstream amp, and I installed a couple of weeks ago, and tested speakers on it. When my sub arrived i got it wired in and had it playing for an 1/2 an hour to break it in and later on gave it more power. I stopped at a friends house to show him, shut off my car, started it up, and I blew my fuse(100a) at the battery. I went today to buy a replacement fuse, and once I put it in and start my car it blew without music playing. I disconnected my power wire from the amp and put tape over it and started the car, and the fuse was fine. I undid my ground and hooked that wire to the fuse and the fuse was fine. But when I put both in the amp, the fuse blows. Suggestions?

thats weird, cuz i have the exact same problem.

after doing my install on tues, the amp turned on for 5 seconds then turned off, checked the inline fuse and it blew. so i went and bought some more fuses. put in another one and as soon as i start the car it would blow again.

another user on the forum suggested to check my ground since he had a similar problem and that solved it.

but i guess i shoudlnt be the one giving advice since i still have to check my install over.

What did you check on the ground, did you reground it, or see if there was a short circuit in the ground?

did you properly set your gains? maybe you are clipping the amp and causing it to draw more current then the fuse is made to handle (this does not mean get a bigger fuse, it means to set the gains properly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

i didnt get a chance to check my ground today, planning to look at it tomorrow.

but ive heard there is a way to check the ground using a DMM. maybe another user can shed light on it.

once i check over and find/fix the problem, ill will let you know what it was.

My gain is completely down and music is not playing, and I think that the problem has to be my ground or the amp:crying:

What should I do to fix it? Should I get a new ground spot?
