i have a rockford fosgate 451s amp which is good for 115X2 at 4ohms. i have a set of 692.5i speakers and a set of 652i speakers. i was wondering if it is at all possible to wire both sets up to this 2 channel amp? if so, how would i go about doing it and how much power would each speaker be getting?

the 692.5i speakers are 110 wrms and the 652i speakers are 60 wrms, is this a problem?

thanks for any replies

I assume your 6.5's are for the front, and 6x9's go in the rear.

That means you should but your front left 6.5 and your rear left 6x9 on one channel, and your other two on the other. This will keep stereo sound, however you will lose the ability to fade front to rear.

Also, you will be under powering your 6x9's in this configuration. A 2 channel amplifier is not ideal, but it will work.

Be sure to set your gains according to the gain setting tutorial in the amplifier section. I suggest setting the gains for 120w per channel. This way you maximize the power to your 6.5's, and safely run the 6x9s.

so this will give me a 2ohm load from the amp? is that ok for the speakers i have? how do i make sure im getting 120w per channel?

Yup, no problems running it at 2 ohms.

Check out the gain setting tutorial in the amplifier section. This will tell you how to set your gains for 120w. (Hint: The voltage you're looking for is 15.5v //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)

k thanks. how do i run the wires from the front doors back to the trunk? do i have to tap into the factory wires that are there, or do i just cap them off and leave them in the door?

Cap the stock wires and run your own.

how did u get 15.5v? if im running my amp at 2ohms, wouldnt it be 225X2=550 and square root of 550=23.5v?
That would be setting your gains for 225w. 120x2=240, sqrt(240) = 15.49v

i see what u are saying about 120w and 15.5v... y cant i run all the speakers at 225x2? wouldnt that mean that each speaker would get 56w? and if i run them at 120w, they would get 30w?

ok, well thanks for your help then. i have never had an amp power my speakers before, will this make a big difference?

i realize that the rms for the 6.5's is 60w but what is the highest i could go without blowing my speakers for a daily driver? i want to push them as much as possible to get close to the rms of my 6x9's which is 110w rms.

well anyway, thanks for all your help man. i actually just bought another rockford amp that i will use to run my front speakers with 65w lol. i will keep all this in mind though. thanks again for the help.
