Just installed my ne Fi BL. I replaced 4-single 4 ohm 12"s. I did the big three with 1/0 and ran 1/0 back to the cap in between systems. BL is dual 2. Now i'm getting more dimming than before. Could this be because th Fi is actually a 1.7ohm not a 2, so therfore i'm actually getting .7 ohms and not 1 or 1.5? I have the speaker wire run straight from amp to sub (no terminal on box) whereas the 4-12" i was going through 2 terminals and may account for rise in resistance?

I'm getting rid of the cap and adding a kinetic 800 in the back. batt under hood is already a kinetic 2600. should this solve the problem or should i start saving for and alt. i have a '04 grand cherokee with stock 140amp alt. Amp if hifonics bx1500d that i'll be upgrading to a 2607d.

Sell the cap, buy a battery for the trunk.

i'm also planning on eventually running another 2607d and a second bl 15" at which point i will be upgrading the alt...however money has to get here before all that.

so should the new battery help or what? should i possibly put a terminal on the box for box rise to bring it back closer to 1-ohm?

If you just did the BIG3 maybe one of your connections isn't very solid. I'd double check those...

Terminal cup wont rise the Impedance. Another battery will help. Sounding like a broken record just recheck grounds.

just redid allthe ground before putting the new speaker in. i also double and triple checked everything after the lights were dimming like that. grounds seem to be good.

did you change your gains from then to now?

Is the sub broken in?

How did you set your gains?

if anything the gains are turned dow for the sub break-in period. i think they are very close to what they were. i'm thinking it may just be because of the lower impedance. but how can i resolve this problem?

the only other thing is when i built the box i forgot the spec i was building to and made the port too small. so right now i only have 29sq in of port. i'm building a new box today though.

i doubt your seeing much if any lower impedance than before.. if you were at 1 ohm nominal before, and have a d2 wired parallel now. The .7 dcr figure on Fi's sub isn't nominal impedance. You are wired at 1 ohm.

did you have the cap in before?
