wiring a batcap 2000

What is the best way to wire one of these? I figure I would use the stock battery and use the batcap in the trunk. Plan on using it as a distro block. Question is, what is the best method for wiring it up? the way i had it in my head was wire 1/0 power cable from front battery, and run it to the back battery with both ends being fused. then ground the second battery to the frame. then make 2 runs from the positive on the second battery to my amps (fused). then ground my amps separately on the frame. sound good? surely someone has some input.. don't wanna mess this up. thanks yall

I would plant like 6" apart in rows 8" apart.

"then ground my amps separately on the frame"

For real,

that sounds fine. But I would make a common ground for the bat and amps. Less chance of ground loop.
elaborate more on that..should i ground both amps to the neg. on the battery, then make a 1/0 ground from battery to the frame instead? ? is what what you are talking about

yes, that would work as well. Just make a single ground point for the bat and amps. wether its from amps to bat to ground, or from amps to ground and bat to same ground.

what ever is easier. as long as you have a common ground for the amps and battery. you could ground each separately, but it "may" introduce ground loop. again May. You can do it either way, what ever is easier, but preferably I would ground them together.

The only change in what you have said above would be to ground the amps directly to the rear battery. DC electricity runs in loops. The electrons flow from the POS+ terminal and return back to the NEG- terminal. If they have to travel further to do that, it requires more power to do so, thus making your system less energy efficient. Why not make the direct connection and make it more power efficient?

As for grounding the rear battery to the front, if you have a full frame, then using the frame rail is OK. But if it is a unibody car, you should run a separate ground wire that matches the POS+ wire you ran from the front.

the CORRECT and best way to wire a BATTCAP is to run 1/0 power AND ground from main battery to battcap and then from battcap to amp (complete parallel system). this is from their website. don't use body/chassis grounds for Battcaps per manufacturer.....hope this helps.

you bastards went in and bought some./.. quainity was 19... somehow i got mazed out at 3! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

They say that because there are very few vehicles made today that have a full frame. It is always best to have a wire for the ground, but a true frame rail is just as good. It is only in a unibody car with multiple welds holding together multiple pieces of steel that you truly need to run a dedicated ground wire.

from website so i will stick with what they recommend

i love em, and all my friends use these instead of typical batts as well. my voltage (after the MLA module installed) NEVER drops below 14.6 even full tilt (before MLA module it dropped to 14.0) i use these for my main starting and secondary batts as well.

so they have me sold--
