I do what I want
Ok Guys I have some questions and need advice on the best way to do this... I will probably be adding a second battery to my new vehicle to keep up with the new setup (whatever thats gunna be)... Here is the ways I was thinkin-

Ignore the ground wire from the front batt to the rear idk why I put that lol

The power wire from the front to the rear would be my current Knu 1/0 CCA, the amp wires would be the correct size wire with the right fuses (fuse holders are the cyan color), and the ground from the rear batt would probably be KNU OFC 1/0...

Or there is this way-

Same thing but one fused KNU OFC 1/0 length off that batt to my unfused distro (purple) that splits to the amps... the ground wires going to there own ground (could also do that with the first setup if its better to ground seperatly?)

Now questions-

  • Do I need a battery isolator?
  • If so where does it go and what brand?
  • I was looking in to XS batterys does anyone use them?
  • What size would I need? (I was thinking something that was small enough I could move up front if the old one went then get another one for the back)

Sorry for the long post guys let me know if you have any question...

Im about to do,

Possitives, front battery -> fuse holder -> rear fuse holder -> battery -> fused distro block -> split to both amps

Negatives, rear battery to ground in back -> battery to both amps grounds

I realy dont see the rear fuse before the rear batt to be usefull... I would rather not spend the extra 35/40 bucks getting one when there is already one on that wire cuz if it shorts it only is gunna take one
I was told on here to get another fuse before the rear battery. The knukonceptz one is $20 with fuse.

In the diagrams above you have 3 in the first one, and 2 in the second. Just use the two between the batteries, and get a fused distro block to go after it, or put the third fuse holder by the distro.

Lol wut. You need 2 fuses on a line connecting 2 batteries. One for each source. If your power wire shorts with only one fuse, the fuse will blow on say the front battery, but the rear battery is still shorted.

1/0 front to rear on both + and -. 2 Fuses on positive. Connect amps to rear batt, fuse if you like (further the runs amp to batt, the better it is to have it fused). Done.
