wires on the Alpine CDE-9843

on the wiring harness of the cde-9843s the remote and illumination/dimmer wires have a little connector on the end with rubber around it. what should i do about it, since im going to install it tomorrow, should i just cut of the one on the remote wire and just crimp it, or leave the connector thing and crimp it with that thing? also is twisting the wires and warpping them in electrical tape bad?

get some butt connectors to make your connections.

as for that plug you're talking about, just snip if off right below it and connect it w/ butt connectors like the other wires.
