hey guys i am about to install my system this weekend and need some help... all my system info is in my sig. am i going to need to buy a new battery to run my system? and also what wireing should i buy.. is it ok just to run up to walmart and buy audio wireing there? plz help, thanks guys

I think you should wait on getting a new battery and see how your currect electrical system handles the current draw. I went with all knukonceptz wiring thats flexible, thick, and relatively cheap. You could go to walmart if you want, but I would only personally use their speaker wire. Hope this kinda helps you out and good luck.

thanks for the advice.... if i buy 2 amp kits and a speaker wire kit... am i pretty much good to go?

I am currently using walmart sosche (sp?) wire 4awg wire but im only pulling less than 500 watts right now, im getting a new amp (eD NINe.1) and im mos def getting knukoncept 1/0 awg wire, if you plan on upgrading dont go with walmart wire

It depends on how your gonna wire everything. You could run all 4ga or 1/0ga->4ga. You dont have ti buy two amp kits. Just buy one amp kit for the wire size you need, distro block, and more wiring depending on what you need. I personally need more power/ground wire and speaker wire, look at my sig to see what I used. I will try to help as much as I can, but I myself is always learning.

gotcha... im sure my bros friend who is installing it with me(hes done this b4) will know more about this then i do.... ill probly be able to get advice from him too... im kidna a noob at this.. what is a distro block?

It allows you to split the power wire from the battery into two wires: one to each amp. The distrobution block is also fused for protection. Each fuse in the block should be matched to each amp.

if you want good wire just go to ebay and buy stinger wire by the foot and buy all the odds and ends at cardomain.com. when i put in my friends 12 w3v2 i also made him get a yellow top and it had no dim what so ever (make sure you have good grounds).

If you dont want to wait for decent wire to come on ebay or knukonceptz, Find a welding supply place in your area that carries 1/0 guage wire or 4ga. The scoshe kits are acutally 5 ga. and then it splits to 9 ga for the dual amp kit. The kit also only has a 9ga ground wire. The walmart in my area doenst carry a regular 5ga. single amp kit. Make sure you have VERY good grounds bright shiny bare metal with BOLTS. Also run a new wire from your alt. to your pos battery terminal (4ga or 1/0) and from your Battery ground to the body of the vehicle.
