Alright guys i need help i got a 3 way switch ok now i got my power wire my negative wire and the wire i used for a ground now i cut the cig lighter wire and put that 2 the switch for power ground to a bolt underneath my center console so bolted the ground wire to that as the ground now i flip the switch turns on one of my neons hmm ok odd switch the wires the power where the neg was and sparks and doesnt turn on neons then if i take the ground wire completley off and leave the power on both neons come on but since there is no ground wire i cant flip the switch back so it will shut them off any suggestions what i could do bout this please help

Wow, I went back and I think I understand a little of what's going on...maybe...

Why don't you just wire a SPST (single pole, single throw) switch inline with the positive lead?

And I'm not exactly sure why you have a negative and a ground lead? They are at the same potential, no?

yeah i know i can't figure it out? and sry bout the punuaction guys i forget to do that shit sometimes. The guy at auto zone told me that was the switch i needed? is this true ? could i run a diffrent switch i have the power wire which is the wire off the cig lighter the 2 wires spliced which are from the neons , and thats it any ideas?

Run the power wire into a switched opening in your fusebox. Bypass the cigarette lighter altogether. Ground to the nearest good chassis ground. Run a switch inline to give you control over them.

well dont have cash to go to a shop ......and the clostest custom shop by me is in troy that does like neons and that. But Jimj dont think i have any unused circuits but what would be a good one to tie into any suggestions?

the accessory wire. is powered when the key is in the ACC position on the key switch.

tap in to that for power , also fuse that wire.

are there markings on the switch you have? let me know

The switch i have just the left one has a + sign on it the middle one sticking up and the right side thats the only symbol though i have a 1989 mark vii lsc if that helps with anything
