Arcam CD73 & MISC......

So, I am having problems with the woman in my life, so I did what I always do when I get depressed buy sound equipment!!

So, I decided that the next tweek for juiceing the maximum potential out of my 703's would be to get a dedicated CD player. Looked at a few brands, NAD, Rotel, Arcam, Townshed, etc. Ended up totally loving the Arcam CD73 and for the price I couldn't pass it up.

Also, for shits and giggles I decided to try to maximize it even more by getting some actual decent level cables (no more Best Buy specials). SO, here is what i got, and what I think....

So the cables are Straight Wire - Rhapsody S and Nordost Blue Heaven (Flat Cable)

SO, the CD Player sounds magnificent. I was totally blown away by it. The depth and precision is immense. With out the Nordost Blue Heaven Cable it is a bit harsh on the high end but with it the mids come back alive and the low response is amazing. The Straight Wire Rhapsody S brought a lot more dynamic range into the 703's and made them even cleaner than before (which I find amazing). It made them almost 100% translucent.

I am a believer....

LOL, well I left my old cables back there so I could do the old A/B in a couple days LOL..... Plus for my xBox and iPod i really don't care about the cables, also the signal from the TV is pretty much pointless to put a high end cable on...

CD ~ $700

Nordost ~ $190

Straight Wire ~$160
