Wire gauge discrepancy on PPI 900.4

I was looking into the manual on the 900.4 and noticed it specified using 8ga on the power and ground wires. I just wanted to confirm it will accept 4ga since I'm also planning on getting a 1000.1 and the knu kolossus 0ga dual amp kit.

Also, regarding the remote wire; can I just use half of a 16ga speaker wire run to the hu? Noob question I know, but I want to make sure I order the right stuff.

I use a 12g piece of speaker wire as a turn on lead I like the fact that they are in a thicker jacket and a lot tougher when your pulling them in the car and have less of a chance of breaking and it looks better. as for your amp I have no idea what it takes but you can always cut the wire down until it fits.

Yeah 16ga will be fine. I'm using one wire from a 9-conductor speedwire and see no problems. There's not much current rolling down that wire.
