So I've got 2 Infinity Ref 12" subs powered by a Kenwood KAC7204. (2 channel) I'm adding a JL Audio 6w3v3 - 4ohm 6.5" sub powered by a Kenwood KAC8104D. (1 channel)

My question is how to I go about wiring the signal cables? My thought is to use a y adapter to wire 1 side of the RCA to the 2 channel amp turning the 2 12s into mono and using the other side of the RCA to plug into the 1 channel amp.

I could use the outputs on the 2 channel to connect to the 1 channel but then I'd lose individual control on the subs from my head unit. I'd like to be able to control the 2 12s and the 6.5 seperately from my head unit, so I think putting them on seperate channels is my best bet.

Is this the best way to do it?

Run the two 12's with the sub output of the HU, LPF set @ 60hz

Run the 6.5 sub off the rear output from the HU. Set the LPF on the amp to about 120hz, then set the HPF on the HU to about 60hz. That way the 6.5 is only playing 120-60hz

Run the front speakers with front output from the HU, HPF set @ ~60-80hz

If you really have to run these different sized subs, that would be the best way to do it IMO. You dont want them playing the same freqs. This way you will still have full control of each speaker. Since you didnt mention what HU you have, Im not %100 sure you'll be able to do it this way..
