Turning off your PC doesn’t clear the random access memory?
Yeah, your extensive computer education was wasted.
When you "Shut down" the PC, the information that is in the RAM is moved to the hard drive. When the computer is rebooted the information that was moved to the hard drive is moved back to the RAM. When you "Restart" a computer that is currently on the RAM is wiped and the information is not moved to the HDD.

Clear enough Rob?
And?
So now you’re flexing on $100 self-powered desktop speakers connected to your entertainment PC that you can’t play except through headphones?
Wow. You go, kid!
The tweeter on my center channel cost more than your mains and sub together.
Looks like you are the one trying to flex and talk down to someone at the same time.
You are stuck in the past and on past post. Keep flexing, tell me about that tweeter.
That’s the weirdest spin yet. You think Windows is free when you pay for it, but not free if someone else buys it and gives it to you?
Please explain THAT logic.
When you buy a store bought computer that has an OS on it, the OS is included in the price and is not typically a separate purchase.
The office computers you speak of had OS's installed on them which means it was a separate purchase and typically purchased is a volume license. Meaning someone paid for the OS you got for free.
Clear now Rob?

Sorry kid, but nope. I posted a picture of the area on this forum.
But you can’t remember your own posts. I wouldn’t expect you to remember mine.
This is the screen for the music server that runs 24/7, feeds multiple rack systems with a digital signal, a connected amp for in-ceiling speakers in various areas, plus an FM transmitter for any radio within the legal radius of my house.View attachment 50362

Yes, that’s a genuine Compuserve mousepad. Do you even know what Compuserve was?
Why do you have to like Steve Vai? Fvck off. Now I have to find a different favorite guitar player.

Bro, we gotta stop feeding the trolls, so we can actually discuss shit that matters. I’m guilty of this, too, but we know who is and isn’t worth having a conversation with. I mean, you do you, but you already know this arguing is a road to nowhere with them. These dudes’ minds are circling the drain, and they’re trying to take us with them.

NATO is preparing for war with Russia. Russia has the biggest stockpile of nukes in the world; what could go wrong? Seems clear to me that NATO is trying to provoke and drag Russia into a long term war, as NATO continues to expand across Eastern Europe. I’m still confused as to why China isn’t considered our biggest threat. I worry China benefits the most with a war between Russia and NATO. China is rapidly strengthening its military, while NATO and Russia waste theirs in this stupid war. Either way, war is coming:

“The bloc’s secretary general, Jens Stoltenberg has welcomed what he called “the most comprehensive defense plans since the end of the Cold War.”

The document addresses two “main threats – Russia and terrorism,” and accuses the former of being “the greatest and most immediate threat to the security of allies and to peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic region,” according to Germany’s Bild tabloid.”

“To counter the supposed ‘Russian threat,’the bloc plans to massively increase its Response Force (NRF) from the current 40,000 troops to over 300,000, comprising land, sea and air units, as well as rapidly deployed Special Forces.”

“According to Bild, the bloc would seek to build up armored “heavy forces,” and deploy more long-range artillery systems and missiles, as well as air defense systems.”

Ram doesn't retain information unless it's powered...turning the pc off will clear the ram...the cache on the hdd won't clear but it's not ram...but the cache will contain some of the same information as ram...

Nothing to see here:

Uhhhh….symbols tell the true story….

“The Balkenkreuz (lit. '"beam cross" or "bar cross"')[1] is a straight-armed cross that was first introduced in 1916–1918 and later became the emblem of the Wehrmacht (German Armed Forces) and its branches from 1935 until the end of World War II. It was used by the Wehrmacht Heer (Army), Luftwaffe (Air Force), and Kriegsmarine (Navy).”

So the RAM is indeed cleared when a computer is shut down.
As I said.
Anything in RAM that gets saved to the HDD does not get erased from it when the computer is shut down.
As I said.
Deleting the browser cache does not erase the data on the hard drive.
As I said.

Hmmm, weren’t you fkexing about your custom-built PC that you need mad skillz to keep running? My PCs run just fine. And they would run just fine for a user who isn’t tech-literate. If yours needs a technician just to be used, it might need a real one to fix it so it can be run by anyone.
When you buy a store bought computer that has an OS on it, the OS is included in the price and is not typically a separate purchase.
And when they sell them without the OS, it’s at a lower price. So you are paying for the OS when you buy a PC that has one.
The office computers you speak of had OS's installed on them which means it was a separate purchase and typically purchased is a volume license. Meaning someone paid for the OS you got for free.
You missed the part where I said the computers were wiped clean. As in a forensic wipe so not a single piece of data can be retrieved. I bought hardware with no software, and provided my own software. As I have done since that single Win98 license I bought way back when.
Clear now Rob?
Not when you create your own stories about MY computers.

You go one way I go the other way. Hang on to that limited information you have Rob. It is technically correct to a point. For a person such as yourself with limited computer skills that is indeed what your computer does.

Not one time did I flex on my computer nor did I say I need mad skillz to keep it running. You have no idea what you are talking about do you?
And when they sell them without the OS, it’s at a lower price. So you are paying for the OS when you buy a PC that has one.
You need to go read it again.
You missed the part where I said the computers were wiped clean. As in a forensic wipe so not a single piece of data can be retrieved. I bought hardware with no software, and provided my own software. As I have done since that single Win98 license I bought way back when.
You think you are running a modern computer with Win98? Who's wiping these computers forensically? You? With what program are these computers being wiped?
Not when you create your own stories about MY computers.
Man you sure get defensive and butt hurt don't you.

So you think that when you wipe a drive nothing can be done to recover data huh? Cute.
