Please man, with all these labels. All they are for is eliciting a response from someone. They are criminals. Something wrong with calling them criminals? At least then no specific organization gets to benefit from the coverage.

If a trans person shoots up school, what's wrong with reporting a trans person shot up a school? If the label speaks to motive, then I think it's of particular import to report it.

How is it relevant? How hard is it to say a person shot up a so and so. Or use their name? What does their sexuality have anything to do with dead kids or people? All the label is going to do is make trans people a target for stupid people. I don't care about the shooters life story all I care is are they dead or in custody.

Yeah, let's keep the labels going... makes it easier to find the people we are told to hate.

Ie in the case of the Charlottesville car attack, his identity (as a white supremist) certainly seems to germane to the story and speaks to motive, state of mind, etc. The Nashville case has been more hush, hush, but I do find interesting to note that a trans person attacked a religious school and somebody associated with the school was/had "counseled" him/her. I have to wonder if the counselor either said or did something to set the shooter off. OTOH, bank robber shoots 3 people in botched bank job - don't really care if he was a radical black Islamist or white supremist, etc.

Motive is useful for investigators. The general public doesn't need to know. What are they going to do with the information other than form opinions about that group?
