windows 7 home premium $29 (students)

I really don't see why people can't just say I prefer . . .X and be done with it. There is no harm in having a preference. However, they have to go on spouting BS to justify. I have been spouting the market share/probability of being targeted or for years and people don't get it.
You talking about what I said as BS or the other tool who thinks he knows what hes talking about?

The other tool. I have been somewhat arguing the point you are making for a looooooong time. While your point has merit, my point is that of course deviant characters will develop viruses or exploit windows more than Mac. It would have the most effect since it owns market share by a landslide. Why build only to affect a handful? I have no problem with any OS really. Whatever works for you and you're comfortable with is what you should use. I (like you) hate when they spout off the BS reasons like viruses, multimedia dominance, etc.

Guess you dont know the story of how Microsoft came to be? The creator of Mac created a OS and Bill Gates stole it and turned it into Microsoft when they were supposed to be business partners.
O yea a TY to the OP.
didnt apple steal it from Xerox before that though...

Why pay 29$ for something I can get for free? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
if you can get a legit copy for free than thats definitely the way to go.. if not... its well worth the $29 to get a legit copy over a pirated one.

Xerox created the concept of a mouse, and pretty much just gave it to Apple, thinking no one would want to use something like that.

Same goes for the dude that MS bought DOS from, he had no idea what he created or what it could be used for, sucks for that dude.

More than that bud. They created one of the first GUIs not just the mouse.

Adoption by AppleThe first successful commercial GUI product was the Apple Macintosh, which was heavily inspired by PARC's work; Xerox was given Apple stock in exchange for engineer visits and an understanding that Apple would create a GUI product. Much later, in the midst of the Apple v. Microsoft lawsuit in which Apple accused Microsoft of violating its copyright by appropriating the use of the "look and feel" of the Macintosh GUI, Xerox also sued Apple on the same grounds. The lawsuit was dismissed because Xerox had waited too long to file suit, and the statute of limitations had expired.
