Windows 7 faster than Vista or XP

Vista is good... It just runs too **** slow. It lowers the FPS in games as opposed to XP, and there's just too much crap that comes with the OS.

But even for windows 7 to be doing this good in the beta is unbelievable...

Yes, I cant wait for Windows 7. They will probably call it something else at its release. I dont mind Vista, 64 bit is flawless for the most part. Some things irritate me though. Some older programs that I am used to dont run well on it at all. It doesnt like Nero 6 (my fav version). And a few other programs that I have found. Other then that, Vista is not too bad. But Win 7 is gonna be so much better!

Well, the FPS drop used to be the case, any tests I have seen since SP1 has Vista and XP within a few percent of each other in performance with Vista actually winning some tests.

I wouldn't mind something like XP with Vista's audio processing. ASIO4ALL in XP is still basically a patch, although it does get XP bit-perfect...

I'm just fighting having to buy that much in processing power just to run the OS. I don't need quad cores and 8GB of RAM, I just want to run Office, Foobar, uTorrent and a simple browser. My laptop I got for $530 with dual cores, 2gb ram and a 160gb HDD runs Vista great.

Actually on the windows 7 build i tried was on a shitty pentium D with 1 gig of RAM and it ran as good as my quad core with 4 GB of RAM on XP... I love it lol

I turned my vista into looking like XP. It removed alot of the bloat, but still has alot of the neat features vista integrated. Like the resource manager.
