i have an OLD OLD OLD Dell inspiron 3200 that is running on Win ME.. i liked ME too. that laptop sucked balls though.

I guess I just don't run my computers very hard. As long as I have office and the internet, there are no issues. Excel crashes sometimes, but only when doing long macros and 40x100 cell computations.

nah, the laptop was initially on win 95 then upgraded with the 98 addon. after that the laptop just went downhill. at the time the OS they had available was ME. i found it better than a 95-98upgrade.

i love my XP right now though. i may build a linux comp pretty soon. just need to find another hard drive.

2000 was not a bad release at all, but did not have a few features that I thought were nice to have in a home OS. I mean, 2000 had to be good, XP was basically 2000 with a few slightly modified components and a new UI.

That was a great OS, I downloaded it and ran it in a virtual machine a bit ago, wow is that shit primitive.

I am messing with it in VirtualBox, it works well, but I can't get the 3D acceleration working so I can't see the full Aero interface.

I actually downloaded the Windows 7 beta and used it at work, and on a dual/quad core machine it outperforms XP IMO. I have 2 antivirus programs running on it, and it still runs faster then it would on XP. I think its incredible, and instead of going to vista, I'm waiting for windows 7 and sticking with XP until it comes out.

Yea, it is running faster in my VM than XP or Vista ever have.
