It's in ISO format, so you use a program that supports ISO burning such as IMG Burn or Nero, burn on low setting like 2.4 - 4x to ensure a good burn.

And obtain a key to install. You will receive this key before actually being able (or trying to) download Windows 7.

Vista is only fail for those who can't tame it. My Vista machines are no slower than my XP machines.You fail.

I haven't read up on this new OS coming. Are they finnal going to give us the new DB driven file system?

What tweaks did you make to Vista to make it as fast as XP? Are your vista machines similar to your XP machines in performance?

Install Service Pack 1. Makes a big difference. Take off all the silly gadgets. For what starts up on the computer, use Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel (download standalone EXE).

I also turned all my visual settings to classic, so my vista looks like my xp did, which looked like my windows 2000

Nod, I've done the Mike Lin's startup panel program (pretty awesome) but I didn't like how if you decided later on you wanted something back you would have to reinstall.

At this point, xp for me till win 7 goes live. I wont' even wait for SP1 on this bad boy. Honestly, I'm using beta till it expires.

With Mike Lin's CP you don't have to delete the items, you can deselect them so when you want them to appear, you can reselect them.

As for this W7 beta, is it only a 30 day trial? If so, I had this stupid thing before it was released. I ended up patching it so it wouldn't expire, but then I ran into a few errors every time I opened up the Device Manager, Control Panel, etc. I ended up putting Vista back on. There are different patches, some are easier, maybe I picked the tougher one.

This time I'll be saving myself the hassle of reinstalling vista by installing W7 on a new partition.

Vista has served me well for over a year now, and has not crashed or even hiccuped on me once, in that time. Vista is not full of fail, just the vast majority of PC users are ****ing retarded. Like yourself.

AGREED. The ONLY reason I ever changed from 2KPro to Vista, was DX10. I've never owned a PC with XP on it, and I'm proud to say it. My wife is XP Pro, but only because her piece of shit Zen wouldn't work with 2KPro, and I didn't have Vista yet. She's getting Vista soon enough, though.

I agree with your first statement whole heartedly, Vista is full of win.

As for the file system, I am not 100% sure on that, bit I don't believe it will be any different from Vista, which is to say it will not have the new DB file system.

Ah. I'm having issues with it since I created a partition. It gets to the final stage of completion then after a few minutes my monitor goes blank. I'll just wait till Ultimate gets released.
