window vs. speaker

The front speakers I have picked out have a problem. I have a 93 Ford Escort, the speakers top mount depth will result in them sticking out from the door panel. Resulting in not being able to use the window crank, more over it will eliminate the mounting of it, I'd be forced to place the crank on the thing and turn it and pull it off and start around the speaker. Is there a part to extend the crank bar to go around the speaker, or go with installing automatic window things?

what brand of speakers have you "picked out"? most pioneers are fairly slim and should mount flush. you shouldn't have to have a speaker sticking out of your door. how big is the hole you have to work with? 5x7, 6x9, 4.5, 6, 6.5...?? pioneer probably has a fairly low-profile speaker that should fit and clear your window crank. If you have already looked at those and they won't allow clearance either, then you could look into keeping the stock speakers in the door and going with some tweeters on the A-pillar or the dash, thus avoiding screwing up the window.

Pioneer TS-A1680R's. The top mount depth that I've seen possible for the escort is around a 1 15/16 and the top mount depth the Pioneer has is 2 1/4. I'm going to take some measurements today.
