My reason is because I really don't like hearing things like "my god will save me in the end". That's the same exact though that went through the hijacker's minds as they aimed at the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. It's the same thought that goes through the mind of the ******* bomber right before he walks into a market in Jerusalem, or Dublin, or Cairo, or wherever, and detonates. As far as religion goes, I will NOT admit that I have more faith in one over the other. We need to solve these issues NOW, because there very well may not be a later.

I know this is kinda off topic, but I have a strong feeling that "my god will save me in the end" will be the last thing that goes through the mind of whoever pulls the trigger on the first nuclear strike.
Id rather be in my position and have 1 last resort to look to...FAITH

First of all, I'm not a bible thumper by any means, but I am a christian (protestant). I belive in God, blelive there is a heaven and a hell, and belive that one day we all will be judged. Statistics show that this holds true for approximately 80% of Americans.

As far as WW3 goes, we are already in it. It is called the war on terror.

How dare that thug Hugo Chaves come into OUR country, stand on the floor of the UN, and bash the president the way he did. I personally would have liked to take him out back and beat him with a pipe for his remarks. The audacity. It's funny how even democratic leader like Nany Pelosi and far-left reps like Rangel stand uo in the presidents defense when such a wack-job blows his mouth of such as this.

I like how Rep Rangel put it...

RANGEL: AN ATTACK ON BUSH IS AN ATTACK ON ALL AMERICANS... 'You do not come into my country, my congressional district, and you do not condemn my president. If there is any criticism of President Bush, it should be restricted to Americans, whether they voted for him or not. I just want to make it abundantly clear to Hugo Chavez or any other president, do not come to the United States and think because we have problems with our president that any foreigner can come to our country and not think that Americans do not feel offended when you offend our Chief of State'

Nacy Pelosi...

One of President George W. Bush's fiercest political opponents at home took his side on Thursday, calling Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez a "thug" for his remark that Bush is like the devil.

"Hugo Chavez abused the privilege that he had, speaking at the United Nations," said Pelosi, a frequent Bush critic. "He demeaned himself and he demeaned Venezuela."

Condi Rice

"I am not going to dignify a comment by the Venezuelan president to the president of the United States. I think it is not becoming for a head of state," Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Wednesday.

i did not read every page, but i think it will be the world vs the middle east or terror, same thing in a sense

i also do not beleive there will be anything after ww3, there will be HEAVY casualties if we go into iran also.

We would never invade Iran on the ground. That would be absolutely foolish. We may at some point start bombing they're nuke sites. Hopefully Israel will save us the trouble.

I dont like what chavez said... but are you saying that only americans can criticize Bush in America?

Or is it like if they are in America they cant criticize when they are our guests. I would be able to understand that, because it should be done in a civil way behind closed doors.

Now lets see... where did he make these comments? If it was in the UN building it wasnt on American soil. He isnt our guest if he comes to the UN meeting (which happens to be in the middle of America).

Of course, there was no reason for him to say that. No respect, and not smart. Makes him look more like an idiot.

If you were suggesting it, i think its wrong if a foreign leader cant criticize our president... as long as its done in a more civilized way. Accepting criticism to a point makes one more humble i think.

Those are not my words. They are the words of a Democratic Rep, and the democratic minority leader.

We may end up bombing some nuclear facilities in the future as a last resort. This would occur of course after sanctions are put into place, and if they still refuse to susupend uranium enrichment, as demanded by the atomic energy commision, and the UN security council.

OK. i was just making sure. But i have to ask...where was the UN security council and energy commision when Israel attained their nuclear weapons?

You should ask them that. The UN security council is showing more and more than it is nothing more than a goverment funded debating society. Case and point would be the Oil for Food fiasco, where Saddam was providing oil kick-backs to high ranking goverment officials, while his people starved. Among the recipients were Kofi Annan's son, and the assistant to the French prime minister. The only conflicts for which the UN has ever given approval for in it's history are all US based. Korea was one, Gulf war, and another I cannot remember, perhaps Vietnam. It's important to remember that other countries like France Russia and Germany have all taken previous military action aganst other countries without approval or backing of the UN at some point during the organizations existance.

This is true. it resembles the League of Nations as time goes on. so i guess bottom line is, there is no respect where ever you go.

Wow ! Still an interesting thread. I expected ALL of the regular idiots to rally to this thread , but I'm pleasantly suprised at the civility and insight shown so far.

Man ... do I ever understand the one member who posted " I hate Muslims " ..... Then another member who posted in response " I hate Christians " ...... This was proof of my point exactly : Religion IS the root of all that is evil in this world.

My only REAL regret , is not being around to see mankind's evolutionary progress the NEXT time around.

War is inevitable , just look to history for the proof of that ....

Religious differences WILL be the underlying cause .... again.

Man will learn NOTHING .... again.

I think it is so very sad that mankind wastes his precious time searching for some magical being or afterlife that is not real. Placing expectations and standards so high , that only shame and failure are his companions. It's sad that man is so insecure he feels he needs to fill his life with a useless life-long search , all the while missing life as it passes him by.

My advice ? We only have a short life , even if we live to be 100 yrs old. Quit searching for more , and enjoy what is here and now ..... You only get one chance at any one life you have to live.

Line up ALL of the world's religious zealots , and shoot them all ..... Then things will work a LOT smoother //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
