i went to the re box calculator and the port width seems awfully small. I don't think ive seen a port only 2 inches wide.

2" Diameter is not a very large port, at all. Have you considered Aero ports?

Also, what sub? I'm assuming a 12 ported...

no i havnt. see i tried a bigger port but it wasnt at the frequency i wanted it at. i've never considered a aeroport tho.

I'm running a very similar box with a 2.25" port and it sounds fine. There's some port noise, but not enough for me to care.

Although, when I get the new sub I will be going with a larger port.

well i hav a pickup truck and the sub will be very close to me so minimum port noise would be nice

My honest advice? Talk to someone around here, and pay the 10 dollars or whatever it is for a design. It will be what you want if you use someone who is somewhat credible. They can also give you the dimensions for either an Aero or classic port.

A lot easier, and only 10 bucks for a lot less trouble to go through.

When you have larger port area, you will have to lengthen the port to maintain tuning frequency.
