I have a chevy cobalt 2007 and I was wondering if this setup will work:

-Front Speakers: Alpine SPS-610C 6-1/2" Component 2-Way Type-S Speaker System: http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SPS-610C-Component-Type-S-Speaker/dp/B004THAWHG

-Rear Speakers: Alpine SPS-619 6x9" Coaxial 3-Way Type-S Speaker Set: http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SPS-619-Coaxial-Type-S-Speaker/dp/B004TNU40U

-Amplifier for front and rear speakers: BOSS Audio R2504 Riot 1000-watts Full Range Class A/B 4 Channel 2-8 Ohm Stable Amplifier with Remote Subwoofer Level Control: Amazon.com: BOSS Audio R2504 Riot 1000-watts Full Range Class A/B 4 Channel 2-8 Ohm Stable Amplifier with Remote Subwoofer Level Control: Car Electronics

-Subwoofer: Alpine SWA-12S4 BassLine Series 12" 4-ohm Subwoofer: http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SWA-12S4-BassLine-Series-Subwoofer/dp/B00CE9682O

-Amplifier for Subwoofer: BOSS Audio R1100M Riot 1100-watts Monoblock Class A/B 1 Channel 2-8 Ohm Stable Amplifier with Remote Subwoofer Level Control: http://www.amazon.com/BOSS-R1100M-1100-watts-Monoblock-Amplifier/dp/B004S4XNEO

Does everything on this list seem compatible? Are there any recommendations you have? Also, will I need an aftermarket stereo or will the stock one work?

Yes everything will work fine.

You either need an aftermarket head unit with 3 sets of RCA outputs or a LOC.

Just remember you get what you pay for with car audio and Boss is the bottom of the barrel.

What kind of stereo would you recommend? (within a reasonable price range of course)

Also, what kind of amps should I get instead?

I would look for a 5 channel, skar audio has a nice deal on a 5 channel with 500 watts for the sub. Don't get the 6x9, you can add them later if you really want them. I would look to jvc for a nice budget head unit

What kind of budget are you working with? Don't waste your money on Boss.
You can get lucky. My brother had a Boss amp that got filled with deer blood. He threw a deer in his trunk and the system quit working. I open it up to see blood leaking out every hole in the amp. I cleaned it out, which obviously took a while and changed the fuses then it fired right up. Let's see your anyone's amp match that! I actually kept that amp for years after he upgraded just because of what it went through.

By the way B0ZZZ, he actually warrantied two or three of them before he found one that worked more than a few weeks. It's just one of the few good stories about POS amps

Dayumm! That's crazy man.

Just go to sonicelectronix or crutchfield for your stereo. They will include install gear for free if its over 120. Definitely worth it because youll have to spend around 30 bucks for the wiring harness and dash kit anyways.
It says the wiring harness for my car costs $60??? What is this thing and why is it so expensive?
