Will this do the same thing as a audiocontrol line driver?

I tried the 3/4 volume, setting the loc channels,, it did not work. As soon as I moved the fronts up at all, and I mean barely turned, it screamed. WAAAYYYY tooo loud. I am hoping the audio control will get rid of this problem. I am really surprised there aren't as many people with the same problem, or faced it anyway.

If you use the LC6i or the 6XS, you will not need a LOC. The overdrive is a 2 channel interface, not what you are looking for in this case. Good deal, wrong device for the application.

for not much more you could have one and the added features, unless you're going for the OEM look.

That LOC should work fine, but if your hell bent on a different oem integrator, I suggest and RF 3sixty unit. You get some good tuning features.

I had a similar issue with the Loc I was using when I first bought my Crown Vic. Had a cheap unit from Walmart.

The Loc only put out 2 volts and the amp I was using (Mtx 342) required alot of input voltage to keep the gains down.

Leaving the gains on the Loc up gave me the same noise issue that your having. I installed my Audiocontrol Four1 EQ/Linedriver and it fixed the problem off the top.

Gave me plenty of gain and voltage for my amp, and let me keep the LOC gains so low, noise no longer became a issue.

I would suggest the linedriver from lilmanic2 because its cheap and works wonderful.

But, honestly for what your spending, you could get a nice HU to replace all that. But I still use my linedriver in all my installs.

There is no need for a line driver. If there is good output with the amp gain way down and the LOC gain almost at min, the the linedriver does absolutely nothing for you.

Turn the amp gain all the way counter-clockwise. Turn all the trimmers on the LOC all the way counter-clockwise. Turn up the volume to 3/4 on your radio. Unhook the speakers from the amp and hook a DMM on VAC to the right front output on the amp. Play a 0dB test tone and slowly adjust the LOC trimmer until you have the voltage that you should have for rated output from the amp. If you can't get full voltage that way, increase the gain slightly. Based on you first post you had the gain structure WAY messed up in your system. Adding another component is not the answer to a tuning problem.
