Will this do the same thing as a audiocontrol line driver?

Just to clarify one thing. I don't want to change the head unit out. I really like the way the stock one looks. All the aftermarket head units I have seen installed on the newer Tacomas look like crap.

This was with the amp gain all the way down?
So, I finally messed around with the gains after reading some articles on here and the dead noise is gone. Yes, I made a mistake and found that the gains on the component amp were set mid way. I turned everthing all the way down and messed with it for about an hour. The fronts are sooooo much louder, and better sounding than they were. I still have to mess with the sub though. I got the line driver, and may install it, but I have to get some time to do it. Thanks for all the info.

You got the front sounding good. Great!. You should easily be able to do the same with the sub without the line driver. That is the route that I recommend. Adding another component is only going to increase the potential for introuced noise to the system. You don't get rid of noise by adding components to the system.
