Will this amplifier work.

I just got two Audiobahn AW1051Q 10" Subwoofers for free in the mail and am wondering what type of amplifier is best to run to get good bass out of the system without destroying them or if this amp will work fine. The box says they are ,300 watts rms ,dual voice coil, and 2 OHM or 8 OHM operational. frequency response is 30HZ-1KHZ and 91.1dB. I don't know if all that information was necessary but im a beginner so oh well. Thanks in advance for any help.

Will a rockford fosgate R-500-1 Amp putting out 500 watts at 2 ohms work fine?

If the box says they're 2 or 8 ohm operational, and they are dual voice coils, that means that each woofer is a dual 4, which means you can wire it up to 1, 4 or 8 ohms. That 500w alpine probably isn't 1 ohm stable.

you need to find a amp that's 1 ohm stable and can put out 500w+.

It's a little more than $200, but it's a solid amp that is stable to 1 ohm, rated at 500 watts at 1 ohm but most likely puts out 600+. Rockford Fosgate underrates a lot of their amps, especially their power series amps like this one. You can always contact the seller and ask him what their birthsheet says it really puts out for power. Rockford 500 Watt amp
