USX series Zed made?

A buddy of mine has a UsAcoustics USX-4065 that i might get. Are these Zed made? The board says it is but i hear these were made in korea. Even if it was made in korea , were the parts up to par with steves original design??

Most of Zed built amps were out sourced to Korea, A huge percentage of old school "Made in the USA" amps were made over seas including Phoenix Gold and so on. Just because it was made over seas doesnt make it a bad amplifier, Those "American Warrior" amp you have were made over seas.

Amps were engineered here built over there. If you look at the internals of alot of OS amps you will see alot of asain made and stamped IC's ect ect.

Cool , thats what i figured. I just see a lot of nuthuggery on the black/red and the chrome usacoustics but not the blue ones. I'm gonna get it to run subs in my truck. My uncle just gave me a pair of older type S alpine 12's that i'm gonna throw behind the seat. so i got the amp today and 3 channels play beautifully. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif good news is i'm pretty sure its easily fixable , one 620 ohm 1/4 watt resistor and the 2 mosfets for that channel were toast. with shipping parts were 6 bucks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif will post up again to see if it fixes it. I dont have an oscope to properly test every component but i did go through with an ohmmeter and check nearly every component for dead shorts and for correct resistance. The way i see it though 6 dollars on a free amp that was designed by zed can't be a bad choice.

Then I think it was just the first two series were built by ZED, and the later ones done over seas. Maybe Bromo can correct my info.

well , i'm not sure if that info i posted is correct or not. I had the amp open today to replace 2 mosfets and a gate resistor and i didn't find zed audio on the board anywhere. So who knows......I do know that it sounds AMAZING!! Just as good and maybe better than my xm-5540's

Could be a case of ZED no longer being involved and the design being continued with slightly different parts.

You are correct , i now own a few more of the blue ones since i posted this thread. The ones with the light strip were designed by zed , but built by koreans , the ones without the lightstrip were designed and built by zed audio. But i'll go on record to say the koreans did a hell of a job on the light strip ones. my 2100 and 4065 sound great.

same guy i will be buying my RCA jacks from , my 800F has a pair of female jacks ripped off of a broken head unit soldered to the board right now. He's got some replacement jacks for me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And yes , they are very solid amps , i honestly like them better than my old sony xm-5540's.
