will this adapter work?

i am tryin to figure out how to hook my computer sub to my DVD player, here's what i was thinkin...

take this adapter --> http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F011%5F003%5F001%5F003&product%5Fid=274%2D879 and hook it into the 1/8 jack that is in the back of the sub, and then get an RCA cable and run it from the adapter to the "Audio Out" on the DVD player. would this work? or is there another way or anything
