Will my amp work with this sub

I was planning on getting a sony Xplod 1200w powering (1) Alpine Type R subwoofer @ 4 ohms. Would i be getting full support from the amp. Also, would it be better to get the 2 ohm version of the sub? Problem is, I dont know if the Xplod amp would support it at 2 ohms since it says nowhere that it is 2 ohm supportable, just 500x1@4ohms

yeah...sony amps are overrated...you'll probably starve your type r to death even if it does work...which it wont
