Will Kicker L7s work with this amp?

I am unsure what my amp can handle and i dont understand the ohm thing enough to make an educated decision.

The 2 subs i have included in this thread come in a Dual 2ohm impedance or a Dual 4 ohm impedance. So what sub should i get for this amp i listen to hip hop and drum and bass?

Lastly what is the difference between the subs? and what is a single, dual, quad coil mean in terms of powering?

if your intending on spending $600 for that amp, I'd do a little more research

Back on topic, go with a single channel amplifier, commonly known as Class D mono amps, for subwoofer usage. As for coils, it's just a different number of coils to give a wider range of wiring options to acheive certain ohm loads.

get a monoblock amp as stated above. they will either do rated power at 2 ohms or 1 ohm. find an amp that you want, then tell us what it is so we can recommend the right sub for you.

you're better off looking at an L5 if you want to match power output with handling. Of course 300watts to the L7 wouldn't hurt it.

300watts to an L7 would hurt you.....people would make fun of you if they know what they are talkin about....so for the fact that that doesnt happen.....i want u to get a better amp try a mono channel or 2 channel....then pick the subs......always build around an amp.....itll sound best that way....but consider your budget

How would it hurt it? Are you stupid? Under powering a sub WILL NEVER HURT A SUB, EVER.

it may not sound best unless u have the best box.....but u will have better power ratings than trying to push an L7 on 300watts

I really don't plan on buying another amp right now. i have a 15 year old pair of 10's that thump but my amp is too powerful for them so i thought about movign up a little bit.

if i did i would buy a Alpine PDX-1.600 (but i wanted a single 5 channel amp for space reasons) 499.99 kinda pricey considering i paid extra for a 5 channel

for 300 rms i would say a comp,maybe the comp vr th have the best sound in my opinion

Could my amp power the L7 decently? i could always later upgrade. It looks like the L&s RMS is 750 for 12" and 600 fro 10" i am coming up about half would that be enough?
