i don't really know the difference in sound quality, i typically listen to drumb and bass o usually there is a lot of highs and low bass.what do you want a 10 or 12?
You're planning on running everything in your car off of one amp? If you want Just a mono and you were planning on spending 600 for an amp. Save yourself some dough and get an AQ2200D and 2 nice subs that can be wired down to 1ohm.I am unsure what my amp can handle and i dont understand the ohm thing enough to make an educated decision.
The 2 subs i have included in this thread come in a Dual 2ohm impedance or a Dual 4 ohm impedance. So what sub should i get for this amp i listen to hip hop and drum and bass?
Lastly what is the difference between the subs? and what is a single, dual, quad coil mean in terms of powering?
Alpine PDX-5

well i don't have much room in my trunk with a big amp i used to have a Eclipse PA5422 but it was so big with the sub i couldn't put anything in my trunk. and the alpine amp will stack on the other to save space. i obviously not an enthusiast but rather just want some decent sound in my ride. You're planning on running everything in your car off of one amp? i have been told the 12" typically are better speakers overall for SQ and lower bass. Wish i had the room to run another amp but i don't 361 watts is my limit.in my opinion 12's are a better speaker....
i have a cxv 12 and i listen to rock, rap, country and it does it all but i am runnin a zx 750.1
Audioque.com You are right, that one I suggested is long as hell. They have a 1200 watt amp as well. You could get a nice pair of subs there too.well i don't have much room in my trunk with a big amp i used to have a Eclipse PA5422 but it was so big with the sub i couldn't put anything in my trunk. and the alpine amp will stack on the other to save space. i obviously not an enthusiast but rather just want some decent sound in my ride.
That said where is best place to buy the amp u suggested?
but to answer your question i want to run everything right now off the PDX-5 and i'mlooking for a decent kicker sub since i get a really big disvcoutn on their products.
1 dual 4 ohm sub can be wired to 2 ohm. 1 dual 2 ohm sub can be wired to 1 ohm by wiring both positive and negatives together. Your sub will come with a set of wiring posts for both coils.OKay, if i order the 08VS12L7 12" how much power will i need to power it? and which ohm should i get 2 or 4?
Looks like i am going to buy the 07DCVR12 12" until i figure out if i want to add another amp or not. but what ohm do i want for this sub 2 or 4.
From my limited reading 2 ohms pulls more power from the amp, but if my amp run at 367 watts @ 2 or 4ohms them would it be better to get the 4ohm sub that way the amp doesn't get so hot?
in addition to this the whole dual voice coil in relation to ohms confuses me.
I have the PDX-5 which is a 5 channel birth sheet says 103x4 & 367x1 @ 2or 4ohms.I own the pdx 4.150 as well.
an enthusiast will say get a zx1500 or the 1000, but I see no problem giving it 750+ watts. Why not just get the pdx 1.1000?I have the PDX-5 which is a 5 channel birth sheet says 103x4 & 367x1 @ 2or 4ohms.
But yes that L7 can handle double that at RMS and 4x that at peak.
I can get a ZX-750.1 (08ZX7501) for $174 would that power the L7 sub? it looks to be kinda small and maybe i can mount it on the sub box.
well the price, i just spent 2.3k with my current setup up and not looking to spend another 700an enthusiast will say get a zx1500 or the 1000, but I see no problem giving it 750+ watts. Why not just get the pdx 1.1000?
