yes u can. u can wire them differently.

I wasnt sure, I know most times if you have a amp too small running bigger speakers, the amp will cut out. So If I run the Type R's at 2 Ohm (Giving them the suggested 300 RMS each) The amp will not have a problem with these?

u will get 300rms a piece at 2 ohms. an amp to small will not cut out. the only time it will is if it has protection cuz of some idiot turning the boost and gain all the way up.
