Will I regret getting my system installed at Best Buy?

Fair enough. How would I find out if the installer knows what he's talking about? I know enough about this subject to discuss stuff with a salesman competently, but that's about the extent of my expertise.
Honestly tell him you concerns, that youve read best buy installs can **** some major dick, ask him to explain in detail every step of the installation process, if he cant even bullshit you then i would not let him touch it.

check their previous work. any halfway decent bay will have a photoalbum in the shop. we used to do full custom boxes and fiberglass work at the 2 bestbuys i worked at in two different cities 280 miles apart. the third store, i didnt spend much time there to set up shop.

there are also people here who have never worked as a real installer and have no clue how most other cars are built, if they have factory amps, nor how to deal with mounting components in certain vehicles.

most here work on 10+ year old cars and a few of their friends. to top it off, alot of them never fully finish an install...much less do someone elses

Talk to the installer, find out if he is sounds like he knows what he is doing and make your own decision. Best buy will warrant the install for the lifetime you own the vehicle, will random dude driving down from wherever the **** do that for you? NO

Everyone here loves to hate but i doubt anyone here has even had a single thing installed by best buy, all the do is read shit people complain about.

Let me ask you this is you had 1000+ store doing 1000+ cars a day i dont see a way you will go without a complaint.

Im honestly can care less who you pay im just sick of retards spouting off shit they have read with no prior experience.

I can't ****ing wait, tbh. That's why I'm so desperate to have it put in quick. I just have the factory speakers in there right now.
There are alot of people on here that have years of experience in the 12 volt feild and there are also even more people on here that have only installed a HU in a budies car and claim to know how to install. These people don't fully understand proper install techniques, or even how to trouble shoot. Look at it this way if the Best Buy you take it to smoe how ****s up your install or beaks something they are insured so your shit will get fixed, where letting a freind who claims he knows what he is doing and ****s all your shit up and then you have to take it to a shop and pay twice as much. The reason you will pay twice as much because I my and alot of other installers do not like to fix "friends" installs.

yeah, i wouldn't let anyone touch my stuff unless they were an electrician or have been doing this for at least several good years. Someone who claims to understand everything may screw even the simplest thing up. Then there are those who rush things and don't do some of the install correctly.

I have always thought, "do it right the first time", or don't do it at all. I probably have over 50 hours of install in my only two builds and i still don't know everything. Shit takes along time to understand.

Ive had a couple things done at my local best buy. HU, couple amps, door coaxials. Never a problem. This may vary depending on who's doing the work but you could say the same for some high end shops. Id say do it if you don't have the time and know-how, and enjoy your system while you start reading up on some things here and elsewhere. I have never had a problem with any of my Best Buy installs and when I've gone to higher end shops later to change things they've said it looked fine. My only advice would be once they put it in and tune it, don't crank anything until you post here again and give us an idea of where they set everything. Even a chain store with half way competent installers can bolt an amp in and run the right wiring in the right places, but I've watched installers in both chain stores and high end shops do some really weird things with my amp settings that I had to change later.

The sub is a JL Audio 10" W7, two Alpine amps and two pairs of Alpine components (SPX-13REFs for the front doors and SPR-13Ss for the rear).
You should have a nice sounding system as long as you're not expecting massive amounts of bass with 1 10W7 in an suv. Which Alpine amps do you have?

word...

Honestly man, with an 08 pathfinder, i would want to have someone cover them selves on there, i would take it to a shop or at least bestbuy to get it done, you can mess up stuff fast if you dont know what your doing

i see people come in all the time with installs that say they know what they are doing, but it still looks like garbage, and still dosent sound that good

i say take it to bestbuy, or do some more research and travel further to get it done

that price seems right

I'd love for someone with a good reputation on here and experience to do it instead of BestBuy, so if anyone has done installs for other members and is willing to make the drive to me, I can compensate you well. In fact if you can do it today (Saturday) or Sunday, I'll pay you the full $350 I would have blown at BestBuy assuming it's a great job and you can show me why all the wiring has been done correctly.
you should do it.

i'd trust someone on here before i trust someone at best buy

i wouldnt just because someone can build a box, or make a fiberglass kick panel, and post a pic up, dont mean that have any installing or electrical wiring skills or troubleshooting skills. Anyone can get some box blans and build a custom box and call themself an installer, But thats just my 2 cents i get guys that come into the shop and claim there Ex-installers or can install and when i get into there car, theres wires everywhere cut harnessas and sh*t wired up all wrong so....
