Will I need a smaller belt for new alt ???

Mine did not need a shorter belt. Noone that I know that has done the swap needed a new belt. The pully is usually smaller, but that can usually be compensated for by adjusting the tensioner. Thats all I had to do on mine. Not saying its true in all cases, but from what ive seen, the stock belt is usually ok.

Is this new alternator going to be in a larger casing? If so then it may need a longer belt. If it's the same size alt with a smaller pulley, it may need a shorter belt if the tensioner cannot be used to compensate for the difference.

In conclusion, you may need a belt that is either longer, shorter or same size belt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
