Help Diagnose my NOISE Problem.

Ok, ive had the sub amp installed for a while now, i just installed my 4 channel. i only hooked up the rear channel cause thats all the time i had to wire the speakers. When i turn on just the power i got a little bit of static, then it went away. THen when I turn the car on i get a low static noise that changes with the volume/gain and an engine whine that is constant and changes with rpms. ive searched and found all of the problems that it could be. The RCAs are on the other side of the car and the sub RCA's make no noise after i regrounded. the ground now is very solid. the noise is there when i plugged just the rears in or both pair. tomarrow i will run wire to the front, but i assume it will be there as well.

is this a bad set of RCA's? They are the new twisted Tsunami's. Same as the sub RCAs. What else can i do if it is not the RCA's? I will test a new set tomarrow. I could do an isolator, but id like to think i could fix the problem.

In short I am getting noise from one amp, but not the other.

The problem is your Pioneer HU (I think the issue is caused by unplugging the RCAs while the HU is powered up?).

Anyhoo, some people have had success with regrounding the RCA's. Here's what to do:

take 2 small pieces of speaker wire, strip a couple inches off one end and wrap it around the outter barrel of the RCA's (one wire per RCA) then loosen a screw on the back of the HU and stick the other ends underneath it (you can also attach it to the ground wire of the HU).

A pic showing the outter barrel of the RCA..

ill give it a shot. i did power up the amp for the first time without the rcas in there. then turn the car off before i plugged in or unplugged any of the rcas. im going to test some other rcas to see if they do the same thing.
