will i blow this 15" sub with this amp?

That amp should put out somewhere between 1200-1400w rms at 1 ohm, so no, you won't blow the sub if the gain is properly set and it's clean power.

If you don't want to exceed 1000w rms, then you can use your dmm and a test tone to set the gains for exactly that.

SQRT(Watts*Ohms) = Volts

SQRT(1000*1) = 31.62V on the sub amp speaker out terminals.

If you've never done this before, then definitely read the gain setting tutorials.

Hm, so if I have the gain all the way turned off, it would be around 700watts or something? is it like that?

If it can handle the power of the clipped signal, nothing will happen to the speaker. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
Don't confuse the poor kid with true but easily misunderstood facts. I can just imagine someone saying that their sub can handle more watts then their amp can deliver cleanly, so that means their sub can handle a clipped signal from the amp...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

First choose a song with moderately strong bass, or music that you listen to the most.

When setting your gains, just start at minimum gain on the amp. Now turn your HU up slowly until you hear some distortion from your speakers, then back it off a bit (if you can't hear distortion, just go to 3/4 max volume)

Now slowly turn the gain on your sub up until you hear it distort, or if it bottoms out, and turn it back down until it sounds clean again. Just be careful. If you think it sound stressed, then don't go any higher.
