will i blow this 15" sub with this amp?

I have a Diamond Audio 15" (D915D2)

1000 rms, 2000 max

My hifonics amp 1606D will push out SUPPOSEDLY 1600 watts@ 1ohm......Will i blow this sub even with my gain all the way down?

Plain and simple NO! You will only give the amp a 2 ohm load, since it's Dual 4. And that amp won't put out more than 1000WRMS into a 2 ohm load.

my bad, its dual 2, so it'll be a 4 ohm or 1 ohm load. sorry for the confusion

still even if you wire it at 1 ohm that BXi will not put out 1600 rms, more like 1100-1300. I dont know alot about diamond audio subs, but I think you should be fine unless you set the gains like a tard

if you have to ask, then i suggest not even doing it. if your sub is 1000w RMS D2 (assuming dual 2) and that hifonics will push 1600 @ 1ohm, keep your gain down. not that difficult to understand.

go to the gain setting tutorial, follow the directions, and go from there following that should keep you safe. By no means does that mean you will not be clipping your subs, but it shouldnt harm anything if you set your gains by the tutorial.
