Will I blow my two P3 Shallow 400W RMS Subs If I give them 500W RMS each?

Alright, cool. Whata relief! I just bought a box with two DVC 4 ohm P3 shallows and a Rockford P1000.1BD amp to push them. I'm hoping it slaps, it'll be my first system in my first car haha. Think it'll sound alright?

If its clean power in the proper enclosure then im 90% sure the answer is no.....however, lower end RF isnt known for taking much over rated. IMO try it, I would.

Should sound decent for your first system.....but after a few weeks or less your gonna want louder lol

Having bass is better than nothing and if it is your first system I bet you will like it for the time being. It will sound good as long as the box is right good luck with your system man.

Yea, the amp I got is CEA-2031 compliant and it wasn't too cheap haha. P1000.1BD and it's 1000W RMS at 1 ohm.

Thanks murph, the box I got is built to Rockford's recommended specs.

Thats depends on the box... Them being shallow mounts and punch series you will have to be careful though cuz Im sure they arent built very well and shallows arent supposed to take a ton of power cuz they can easily reach thermal and mechanical limits...

as long as the box is sealed built to spec the 12s should handle that amp fine ive ran a pair of the newer p3s10s on a t1000 at 2 ohm roughly 1200w turn down to about 1000 and they didnt have a problem but in the ported box even at rockfords specs they didnt like power i had my p3s10s ported to 32hz on a pbr300x1 each and i had to be careful with the gain or they would bottom out quick. really a 500w mono would push the 2 p3s 10/12s fine

haha completely agree with this.

my first sub was a 200w kenwood 12", it sounded AMAZING... until I got over it.

now I use a soundstream 350w 12" and it sounds awesome for the time being... really want more but my cars alternator can't keep up :p

This addiction is what happens when you start with car audio lol. So as a first system, pretty much whatever it is, will sound good to you, until you get over it...

Your alt can't keep up with 350???

got a 50amp alternator so out of approx 720W I got 350wrms on the sub, 200wrms on the speakers with 170 left for whatever else the car might need, lights, fans, pumps, aircon etc...

so I'm fine as it is, never had light dimming etc, but I wouldn't want to go any higher on this alt.
