Will I be okay? Battery issue...

Well got my system wired 3-4 weeks ago, been enjoying it and ****ing around with the tuning alot lately. Managed to get the car really loud over the past week and my battery paid the price. Was playing a loud song and my lights would dim so bad my battery light would flicker on when the bass hit. I stopped with the stereo and let the car rest. Took it out last night to mcdonalds and well battery light turned on in the drivethru (****). Take the car home, park it, eat and get some sleep. Try to turn my car on this morning, get that crackling noise, no turn-over tho. Considering my lights came on and it made that noise, Im sure its my battery not my alternator. Only reason Im posting this thread is that I need to take my car 2 1/2 hrs home from college tomorrow, if I get a jump and get on the highway, my car should be okay to get home correct? With the alternator charging it? Im 99% sure ill be fine, just REALLY dont wanna be stranded in middle of nowhere.

this is what you do, jump ur car while it is running take off the hot terminal if your car dies then its ur alt.!!! But if it stays running you will be fine to get home, just carry some jumper cables with you.

Make sure you charge your cell phone just in case... I got stuck on a highway with no phone... THAT sucked.

Do the free stuff if you want... clean the battery posts/terminals and make sure they're on tight. Probably won't fix the problem, but it helped me when my car wouldn't start.

if you have the time go to autozone or pepboys they can test your batt i think its free

Talk about doing some potential damage to the electrical system
