im curious to know if its perfectly fine to ran an amp a @ 1ohm if the specs are only at 4ohm and 2ohm?

the rockford 600bd for example does 600rms@2ohm stable and i wanted to know if the amp can be hooked up properly at 1ohm? if yes, what kind of power would it be pushing?

anyone here done this?

Unless you like risking the amplifiers death and voiding your warranty i would say no.

some amps are fine with that sort of thing.. but you pay big bucks for it. if you paid under 300 for the amp, i would venture a guess that no, it'll go into protect if you do that.

No its not fine. Well with some amps it may survive but many will go into protection mode early and often from overload or excessive heat. Definately will void the warranty. 1 ohm stable was my first priority in choosing an amp because I didn't want to be limited in configurations. The only way to know for sure is to try it. You might want to add additional cooling while your at it.
