Will a line level output convertor add noise?

I am adding a amp to my stock system for some extra bass....I will be using the convertor to hook u a amplifier.My questions are....will it add any unwanted noise to the system?Do they require and type of power to operate?And what does the adjustments on the convertor do?

I tried to use a amp once, but I kept scrapin' up my pecker.

my "pac" unit doesnt make noise. You'll need to tap into the rear speaker leads,power,ground,remote. easy stuff. And the knobs on the loc are gain adjustments.

probably no noise for sub use only ...
