Supposedly you are not supposed to put a battery directly on concrete because it would discharge quiclkly but it is not true. Probably the worst battery storage condition would be to store it not fully charged in a hot location.

I don't remember the exact reason for not putting it on concrete but I'm sure it came about because batteries used to have wooden cases and sitting them on concrete would cause moisture. They used to not recommend this but now people still think it to be true for some reason.

please dont go into sayin the whole battery on cement story because it will not kill your battery..,
it has nothing to do w/ cement, it has to do w/ temp. difference. by placing a battery on a cold surface you will create a difference in acid density from the lower portion to the upper portion. by creating a difference in acid density there is also a difference in potential which is generated. the difference in potential will create a small current flow. this is why you are told to put the battery on something other than concrete. ideally they should be raised off the ground, like in the store //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif that way the there is no temp difference in the battery.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif

to the original question, a second battery will help to an extent...but will only further strain the fact that you still have a little 70A alt.

Not tryin to jack the thread, but thought it would be better than creatin a thread.

I'm kinda wondering the same thing. I've got a 120 amp alt with a regular everstart under the hood. Then ive got a kx2500. I'm considering getting a kinetik battery to put in the back. Would it help keep my voltage up? And what size kinetik would I need for a kx2500?
