You should just lay some felt over it, maybe a little resin, fiberglass it you know. Build you a custom knuckle when all is said and done.

i have a nifty scar from a cut similar to that. its inbetween my pinky and ring finger nuckles. when it was open you could see bone. i didnt get stitches. napkins and electrical tape worked for me.

id say your fine. or you could be hardcore like buddy in that old *** movie and put sulphur (sp?) on it and light it on fire. thatll make it close real good.
