and it shows jsut how weak we are when people actually stop to defend their lives over the victim's rights they just violated.

No one is saying that the victims should not be defended to the letter of the law. No one has a problem with the burglars going to jail. But the burglars should not have been killed.

and don't forget, they were warned. they were given more of a chance to live and learn then the owner's of the house they broke into. i don't recall anyone saying the victims house got a call that said, "if you leave, we are going to rob you." they choose to ignore that warning and they lost.

What I find funny is that people are afraid to go places where the law is taken into the hands of the people (think ghetto's) and yet here people are, saying "Yeah, let them do as they please." It's ridiculous.

You cant really ascertain for certain how it all went down from an audio tape. He could have just said that for the purpose of a legal defense. Who knows, he could have said that, and then shot the first one *** he complied and the second one after he saw his friend get killed and ran.
To claim that anyone breaking into a house realizes the outcome could be death is foolish. They could be certain no one is home and risk only criminal offense.

this is true, but it goes both ways. if it did indeed happen at face value (what we heard on the tape) then joe is more then justified. if it happened as you theorize, joe is indeed a murderer. that being said, we have to take it at face value s that's the only evidence presented.

and if you break into a house, you should realize the outcome should be your death. but again, criminals look for the easy victim, teh easy dollar. and they try to rob the house they are certain no one is in, to avoid have to be held accountable for their actions.

if in doing so you caught them in the act of something like breaking into someone's house, car or commiting another crime,and they then approached you, yes.

relisten to the recording... This guy clicks the gun... says I'm not going to take this... walks outside and says "Boom, you're dead" in the calmest voice. He didn't sound frantic until after he shot the guys. How does that make any sense?

Again i will ask if this is such a good policy why dont we expand it to include the use of deadly force against anyone seen committing any crime?
According to you guys we could do away with all police and just let citizens police each other with state sanctioned legal executions of anyone seen committing a crime.

going on the face value of the tape, he didn't use deadly force until they approached him. he was, in original intent, just trying to stop them. when they approached him, he took the next step. and in that instant, he's justified.

and that's not what anyone is saying. we all agree, or should, our current penile system does not work. it needs reformed. criminals have far too many rights. if prison was truly a punishment and not a state/fedral funded vacation with free food, medical, school and physical training, maybe peopel would be a bit more hesitiant in commiting crimes. but hey, with the current state of affairs, why bother with a job? even if i get caught, i'm getting paid.
