The federal government gives out earned income tax credits to poor people for having children while being poor, and it can be a significant amount of money. It seems like a liberal welfare program to me, and it probably encourages people who are not financially able to support children to have them, but i digress from my intended point.
If we, as a society, are going to redistribute wealth from the rich to the poor, it seems to me that the rich should have the right to impose some restrictions on the conditions under which the wealth is to be distributed. The government, as proxy for the rich, should require that anyone wishing to claim the earned income tax credit to supply certification that the child attends class regularly and maintains satisfactory academic progress. These conditions should also apply to all other welfare programs.

If a parent isn't able to financially support their children, and ensure that their children are attending school and following the rules, then the children should be taken from the worthless parents until the parents can do one or the other.

Another condition we should apply to welfare is mandatory use of a long term contraceptive such as an implant or shot. If you cant afford to take care of your children (and also ensure they get an education) then you surely don't need any more children.

By doing this we could probably make great strides in reducing the worthless human trash our society produces and rid our country of its most parasitic elements within a few generations.

I have come across someone who does this. Uncle sam bending the hard working person over , and giving it to the fuking lazy leeches. They should make it ALOT harder to get on these programs. My rant. Anyways........

Good link, thanks. I have a family member that recently retired from a career as a case worker in CA. I'll be seeing them tonight so I'll have some real world experience later..

I found this line from Wiki interesting though..

"All states, however, have allowed exceptions with the intent of not punishing children because their parents have gone over the time limit."

What ever happened to the concept of shame when taking something not earned?
The "poor" have no shame. They brag about how they get over on the government and teach each other how to do it better and even preach about it in church. I've seen pamphlets.

Also, if you think welfare benefits provide a "life of luxury", your definition of luxury is far removed from mine.
Luxury allows one to chose a more expensive good over a normal good.

Technically, it is a luxury to buy Top Ramen vs. Noodle Lunch, even though one is .15 and the other .12, it's still a luxury.

No.

For every good, there are close normal goods and luxury goods. If you do not choose the normal good, you are choosing the luxury good.

So yes, if the dirt poor family chooses top Ramen over Noodle lunch, they are selecting the luxury good.

3 cents of luxury? The queers! And to think that I know hard working Americans who'll sh!t in the dark to save less than that.

An older "poor" fella I used to work with mentioned that everyday after work he stops by the grocery store on the way home to buy groceries for dinner that night. When asked why not buy everything in one trip he replied "because my family would eat it all in one night and there wouldn't be anything left for the rest of the week".

A girl at work wanted to buy a JVC hu from me but didn't have any extra cash so she offered to give me her EBT card. I had to be a smart *** & ask "What am I supposed to do with this? Swipe it in my butt crack?" She said she'd give me her pin # and I could take it to the store and buy what I want then give her the head unit. I declined.
