why r ebay enclosures inexpensive?

hey i see ported enclosures on ebay for around 30-50 buccs. has anyone bought one? i was looking at a 12 inch box in particular ported to 30 hz. theyre a lot cheaper than what people charge on here (no offense).. just wondering what the difference is? this one is 2.4 cubic foot and i need one for an idMAX.. would it be good?

Those are solid boxes. I bought from that guy before, got a box quite similiar to that one. Very nicely done, in my opinion.

I purchased my first enclosure on ebay, it was a dual 12" tuned to 40hz, 3.4 cubft. Was a good prefab enclosure. I purchased my girlfreinds on ebay single 12 ported enclosure and was cheap, but cheaply made and already had holes in it everywhere so be cautious plus they put a good price but shippin will kill you on some.

HOLY $HIT that shipping kills me. 43 dollars for shipping which is more expensive than the item itself.. that would be about 80 total. maybe i should dig up another 60 and get one from moe lester??

that box is 2.4 cubic feet BEFORE subwoofer and port displacements. Using only a 1" wide port (which is not enough port area, its just an example) the box will be 2 cubes minus sub displacement. youll end up around 1.85 cubes and horrible port noise. If you plug in a 2" wide port, youll end up around 1.6 cubic feet.

thats where they get you. But after its all said and done it isnt any more esxpensive or cheaper....

This comes out of our state of the art manufacturing plant in Texas -- not some "sweat shop" in China (like our competitors' products).

Wow. I didn't know those poor Chinese kids made sub enclosures...
